Earn & Learn

Columbus State experiential learning programs provide students with an opportunity to compete for paid work experience while completing their academic program. Many students move into full-time roles with their employer following graduation. This experience makes program graduates highly marketable to employers in Central Ohio, throughout the entire state, and the nation.

Columbus State Community College's employer partners are searching for talented professionals that have the technical know-how, critical soft skills, entrepreneurial mindsets, and collaborative abilities to join their teams. Equipped with stellar faculty, valuable industry partnerships, and modern technology, Columbus State's experiential learning programs prepare students for the rewarding careers.

UPDATE

A New Phase for Earn & Learn

Columbus State is updating our Earn & Learn programs to support more students and align more closely with local industry needs. While we build a more scalable, future-focused model, recruitment for cohorts that would normally begin in Autumn 2026 will be paused to allow time for key system updates.

What does this mean?

Current Earn & Learn students will continue without interruption.

Employer partnerships and student placements will remain active.

Recruitment for new cohorts will resume in January 2027 with an improved program structure.

This redesign will help us:

  • Expand Earn & Learn into more academic pathways.
  • Strengthen skill preparation to meet evolving workforce expectations.
  • Improve the experience for both students and employers through a more efficient, sustainable framework.

We look forward to introducing the updated Earn & Learn program in January 2027 and expanding opportunities for students and employers across Central Ohio. Thank you for your patience as we enhance the program for the future.
