Child Care
Licensed Child Care Available for Parents
If approved, the Columbus State YMCA will provide student parents with on-campus drop-in
child care for infants, toddlers, and youth at no additional cost. Columbus State
and the YMCA are committed to helping individuals reach their full potential and their
education and career goals by supporting student success, increasing access to opportunities,
and providing vital community support.
Child Care Access Students Need
Columbus State YMCA will provide a safe, nurturing environment for student parents
to drop off their children for up to five hours per day at no additional cost to the
student.
Breaking Down Access Barriers
This partnership between the YMCA and Columbus State breaks down a persistent barrier
to higher education: affordable access to reliable child care.
Columbus State wants to ensure that every student, regardless of family responsibilities,
has the opportunity to thrive academically, graduate, and build a strong future for
themselves, their families, and our community.
Parent Peace of Mind
By removing the stress of arranging affordable child care, student parents can fully
focus on their classes, labs and study sessions with confidence and peace of mind.
Children will be cared for by licensed YMCA Youth Development experts who create engaging,
age-appropriate activities that foster learning, social skills, and resilience.
