Mid-Ohio Market update: manager hired; volunteers needed
Update | Monday, March 23, 2020
The Mid-Ohio Market at Columbus State remains open, and there is a continuing need for additional volunteers. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, a car-only carry-out service has been temporarily set up to provide necessary social distancing measures.
In addition, the College has hired Matthew Austin as the manager of the Market. He has managed food pantries in Hilliard, Linden, and the Milo-Grogan area. Austin holds an M.A. from Miami University in Ohio. He says of the 381 families visiting the Market since the car-only carry out was opened, nearly 15% have been Columbus State students or employees.
Current Market hours are Monday and Thursday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., Wednesday, 3-7 p.m., and 9 a.m.-noon the last Saturday of each month.
