New accommodation request form, new videos from Disability Services

Update | Tuesday, December 15, 2020

Disability Services (DS) would like the campus community to know about the following additions to its website:

  • Orientation to Columbus State Disability Services Videos: Four videos have been added to the homepage which cover topics such as how to register, what services are available, differences between high school and college accommodations, and a video tour of the DS space in Eibling Hall
  • Campus Event/Meeting Accommodation Request form for students: Students who would like to request an accommodation (interpreter, documents in an alternate format, etc.) for a one-time campus event or meeting can do so with the new form. DS encourages all departments who host student-facing events to include the following notice in the event sign up to ensure an equitable and inclusive experience for all participants:

It is Columbus State's policy to provide reasonable accommodations to students with disabilities, as stated in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. If you would like to request such accommodations for access, please complete the Campus Event/Meeting Accommodation Request form as soon as possible. Please note that accommodation requests must be made several business days in advance of the session. Although attempts will be made to honor requests made on short notice, requests that do not allow enough notice increase the possibility that services will be unavailable.
