Virtual Cougar 5K Challenge update
Update | Tuesday, April 28, 2020
The Columbus State Cougar 5K Challenge is going virtual this year. Sponsored by the Staff Advisory Council (SAC), participants will still be able to participate in this year’s 5K by running or walking the race on their own time and their own space. Instead of running together on the Delaware Campus, each person can run or walk the 5K wherever – and whenever – they choose between Saturday, May 2, and Sunday, May 10. SAC will send a follow-up email closer to the start date to explain how to submit race times to qualify for some awesome prizes.
Update: Because this is a virtual race, there will be inconsistencies in everyone's chosen course, daily weather, and tracking devices. Therefore, no placement medals will be awarded this year. Instead, everyone will receive a participation medal and race shirt. Prizes will be awarded to the team with the most members, the team that raises the most donation money, and the team that has the most participants submit their race time.
There’s still time to sign up and encourage your friends and family to participate too. You can also encourage others to stay active by inviting them to race against you from a distance. The registration fee will stay at a flat rate and not increase in April as previously planned.
Join SAC virtually this year so we can all stay healthy and continue supporting our students! If you have any questions, please contact Nichole Bowman-Glover, Wellness coordinator.
