Donate items for second annual Cougar Closet in March

Above: Last year's Cougar Closet held in Nestor Hall. The event was so successful, it will be held in the larger Media Studio in the Library this year on March 31.
For Columbus State’s transgender and gender non-conforming community, clothing is not just a matter of fashion or personal expression, it can also be a vital tool for affirming gender identity. New clothes are often an expense that limits our ability to express our true selves.
Cougar Closet is a free pop-up shop where everyone, especially transgender and gender non-conforming students and employees of Columbus State and their families, may browse, try on, and takeihome gender-affirming clothing and accessories within a safe space.
We all deserve a wardrobe refresh. Last year, Cougar Closet provided over 3000 pieces of clothing and accessories to more than 350 individuals and organizations. To do it again, organizers need your donations, which could include:
- Gently used casual, formal, and daily wear
- Athletic clothing.
- Accessories, ties, purses, and jewelry
- Shoes of every size
- New gender-affirming undergarments via the Amazon Wish List
Where you may donate
Clothing donations are being accepted in the offices of Biological & Physical Sciences,
English, and Humanities, all on the 4th floor of Nestor Hall. Also, in the Languages
and Communication Department, Franklin Hall, room 245. Donations will also be accepted
on the Delaware Campus and in the Dublin Regional Learning Center.
Donate now. The Cougar Closet will be held on March 31 in the Media Studio in the lower level of the Library (Columbus Hall). See the video from last year’s Cougar Closet.
