Gospel Vocal Ensemble performs Sept. 26

The Columbus State Gospel Vocal Ensemble, under the direction of adjunct Emma Easton, will celebrate Gospel Music Heritage Month with a powerful concert titled "The Sound of Legacy: Voices of the Past; Inspiring the Present."

The gospel concert will be held on Friday, Sept. 26, at 6 p.m. in the Nestor Hall Center for Performing Arts on the Columbus Campus. Admission is free! 

This exceptional performance will take you on a journey through the rich history of gospel music, highlighting trailblazing moments in the genre, from heartfelt spirituals and shape-note singing to contemporary masterpieces.

The evening promises a diverse range of performances. A highlight will be Professor Tyiesha Radford Shorts' tribute to the legendary Fisk Jubilee Singers. There will also be performances by special guests Men of Vision +2 and the Columbus Metro Mass Choir, under the direction of Jesse Howell.
