Columbus State’s Biological & Physical Sciences Department selected four outstanding students for special recognition by the American Chemical Society (ACS). This award recognizes students pursuing a degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or chemical engineering who have demonstrated outstanding work and leadership in general chemistry and/or organic chemistry.

The students were recognized as honorary guests at the local ACS section banquet held at Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) in Columbus on April 10. This year’s 2024 ACS Outstanding Student Award recipients were Isayah Curtis, Heisenberg Francis, Conner Kankiewicz, and Ngoc Thuy Huong (Sheva) Vo.
