Rainfall created a soggy Cougar 5K Challenge but didn’t dampen the spirits of the runners and walkers! Proceeds from the event held on May 3 provide scholarships for Columbus State students to assist with books and supplies. More than 80 of the nearly 300 registrants turned out in person for the event.
Preliminary figures show the 5K race has raised almost $9,150 from online donations and sponsorships. Presented by the Staff Advisory Council, sponsors included GREIF, G&J Pepsi, BMI Federal Credit Union, Education First Credit Union, Premier ProduceOne, RAMA, and the Columbus State Bookstore. Additional support was provided by Delaware County EMS and Speedy Sneakers.
