Serving Central Ohio communities is at the core of Columbus State’s mission and central to the work our faculty, staff, and students engage in every day. Our annual Day of Service provides a large-scale demonstration of that commitment, with over 1,000 members of the Columbus State community volunteering at over 50 nonprofit organizations across Central Ohio.
This year, Day of Service will take place on Tuesday, October 3. All college business, including classes, will be closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on that day so that faculty, staff, and students can volunteer at more than 60 sites across the region. You can sign up for a morning, afternoon, or all-day service opportunity, or mix and match!
And did we mention … free breakfast and t-shirt included?

All participants must register by the end of the day on September 21 so that our Day of Service team leaders and community partners have time to prepare for your arrival.

1. Click on the Day of Service Cougar Connect page
2. Scroll down to events, each service opportunity is listed as an event. Look through over 80 service opportunities. In the title of every event you will find the name of the organization you can serve with and if the opportunity is a morning or afternoon shift. Some opportunities have unique times or run all day, this will be on the title of the event as well.
3. Select an opportunity that interests you and read through the description to learn more about the activity, the organization, and if you need to bring any supplies.
4. If the opportunity looks great to you - select the blue RSVP button. If you are not already signed into Cougar Connect you will be asked to do so. Answer the important RSVP questions to secure your spot.
5. Once you are RSVP'd to an event you are officially registered! Your Team Lead will follow up with further instructions.
6. RSVP to the free Day of Service Breakfast and Welcome at the Columbus Campus or Delaware Campus!
