Gospel Vocal Ensemble to perform Feb. 24

The Columbus State Gospel Vocal Ensemble, under the direction of Emma L. Easton, will present, "Quiet Storm." This melodious Black History Month celebration will commemorate the legacy of civil right icon Rosa Parks. During the first half of the program, the Ensemble will perform songs and prose from the civil rights movement to the current day.
The second half features the 2018 Stellar Award nominees, Men After God's Heart (MGH). The Columbus group was cofounded by Columbus State graduate Ron Lyles. It has gone from local success to achieving national recognition. In addition to their Stellar Award nomination for Quartet Group of the Year, MGH vaulted onto the Billboard magazine Gospel chart reaching a peak number six position. This concert will be held on Sunday, February 24 at 3:30 p.m. in Nestor Hall Auditorium. Admission is free.
