Compliance Office
The Compliance Office is open and available to help. At this time, we are not available for walk-in meetings, but you can schedule a meeting or share a concern by completing our online reporting form or by emailing a staff member.

The Compliance Office works to support a healthy learning and working environment for all students, staff and faculty. By overseeing the College's policies and initiatives that prevent and address sexual harassment, discrimination and related retaliation, our goal is to create a learning and working environment that is welcoming, healthy and respectful.
Our office is composed of the Senior Deputy General Counsel, Compliance Supervisor/Title IX Coordinator and Compliance Officers.

Renee holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from Ohio Dominican University and a Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. Renee has worked in Human Resources for most of her career, working at the Department of Administrative Services/Office of Collective Bargaining then working at the Ohio State Highway Patrol. At the Patrol, she served as the Human Resources legal advisor on a variety of topics, including labor relations, employee discipline and due process, ADA, FMLA, civil liability and EEOC/OCRC issues. She also was a certified instructor for the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission (OPOTC) and taught legal courses at the Highway Patrol Training Academy. After leaving the Patrol, she worked for the Ohio School Boards Association for almost 10 years doing labor relations consulting work for Ohio public school districts. Renee also was an adjunct instructor at Ohio Dominican University for more than ten years.
In 2014, Renee started her career at Columbus State as the Director of the newly formed Office of Equity and Compliance and the college’s Title IX Coordinator. In 2021, she was appointed Interim Deputy General Counsel and in 2022, that role became permanent. As Senior Deputy General Counsel, Renee helps to lead the Compliance and the Legal Office.

Jolene holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Psychology from Case Western Reserve University and a Master of Education Degree in College Student Personnel from Ohio University. She has worked in higher education since 2013. Jolene is a member of the Ohio College Personnel Association (OCPA) and is invested in professional development opportunities that allow her to best anticipate and respond to the needs of Columbus State students, staff and faculty.
