Leave Requests
At some point, you may be faced with a personal or family illness or other life event that requires you to be away from work for an extended period of time. The Human Resources department is available to assist you in managing the leave you need to handle these life events and ensure a smooth transition back to your role within the College community. Employees who must be absent, regardless of the reason, need to make sure that they are following department or College leave protocol as they notify their supervisor about absences that require them to be out of the workplace.
Leave requests have moved to Workday.
Steps to start your FMLA claim request in Workday:
- Click 'menu' in the top left corner of the home page and select 'Absence.'
- Choose 'Request Absence.'
- Select the 'Date Range' you want to request. This would be the date range of the whole claim, not just one absence.
- Choose a leave 'Type': Click on 'Leave of Absence' and then choose 'FMLA-Continuous' or 'FMLA-Intermittent.'
- On the following page, select the leave 'Reason.' This is where you choose Employee Health Condition or Family Health Condition.
- Click 'Submit.'
