Blackboard Overview
Blackboard is the college’s learning management system that serves as an online space for course
materials. Blackboard is available on any computer or device connected to the Internet.
Blackboard Tutorials
Each semester there is a Blackboard shell created for every course – online, blended,
and traditional. Students access course content, submit assignments, participate in
discussion boards and online activities, and take tests within Blackboard.
Traditional face-to-face classroom-based courses must include the course syllabus
and grades on Blackboard.
Blackboard courses are password protected, not available to the public. Faculty and
students log in using their college username and password.
Blackboard organizations are used for learning communities, student organizations
and, faculty and staff groups.
Faculty receive Blackboard support from the Digital Education and Instructional Services
division (DEIS). The DEIS Faculty Assistance Center (FAC) provides instructional design consultation, technical support and Blackboard
training workshops.
