An employee with 19 years of service, and another with more than three years, are this month’s Full-time and Part-time Staff Employees of the Month.

Full-time

Marketing and Communications Manager Hannah Groah was named the Full-time Staff Employee of the Month by Office of Advancement Vice President Katy Trombitas. Groah joined the college in 2022.

“Hannah has made a transformative difference at Columbus State by infusing creativity, authenticity, and joy into every aspect of her work,” said Trombitas in her nomination. “Her leadership has elevated how the College communicates with students, employees, and the community, ensuring every message reflects both excellence and heart.”

Trombitas added, “Hannah’s leadership of the employee giving campaign redefined how we think about philanthropy, connecting giving directly to student success.”

Groah’s supervisor, Nichole Johnson, Marketing and Communications associate vice president, said, “She has taken on social media strategy and management, texting strategy, email campaign management (and more), all of which fall outside her technical job description but nevertheless are unmet operational needs.”

Part-time
Howard Graves is a learning support specialist in the English Department in the Tutoring Centers and has been at the college for more than 19 years. He was nominated as the Part-time Staff Employee of the Month by English Professor Dylan Canter.

“Howard brings a daily positivity to the center that is infectious. He visibly enjoys collaboration with staff and keeps the center in good spirits,” said Canter in his nomination form.

“Howard goes above and beyond when it comes to scheduling demands,” he said. “When we needed to cover many hours this semester for a staff member who transitioned to a new position, Howard offered to rearrange his schedule and take on more hours across all of our centers. To have someone who single-handedly took so much pressure off of these sudden demands is commendable in itself.”
