Career readiness event prepares nursing students
Update | Monday, September 11, 2023

Above: Columbus State nursing students in their final semester participated in a career readiness event on Sept. 6 in WD.
A career readiness event allowed 99 students in NURS 2873 (Leadership, Role Transition, and Nursing Care of Patients with Multiple Health Problems) the opportunity to apply concepts of professionalism, leadership, and communication while actively preparing to be career-ready.
Community health care partners were available for students to explore career options while engaging with prospective employers. Columbus State’s Career Services team was on hand to review resumes, take headshots, and provide tools and resources for writing effective cover letters and resumes.
One learning station allowed students to participate in a mock interview with hiring managers from OhioHealth, OSU Wexner Medical Center, and Mount Carmel Health System. The interviewers provided critiques with immediate feedback and suggestions for improvement.
