Free Hope & Help app available

Update | Friday, March 11, 2022

The Counseling Services Department reminds everyone that a critical app is available for students, staff, and faculty. The Columbus State Hope & Help app provides an additional way to reach students and others who may be considering suicide, provide suicide prevention education for everyone, and link to community resources.

Statistics show that suicide is a leading cause of death for college students, with 1 in 10 contemplating it. Especially during this time of uncertainty and social isolation, some students will feel distressed or know others who are. According to research, 67% of those contemplating suicide tell a friend about their intentions first, so knowing how to help can be life-saving.

You can find the Columbus State Hope & Help app on both the Apple Store and Google Play by searching “Columbus State Hope & Help.”

The original app was developed by Lakeland Community College in Kirtland, which granted approval for Columbus State to customize and share with our community.
