College awarded two TRIO grants
Update | Friday, July 29, 2022
The Department of Education has awarded Columbus State two TRIO grants. Each is a five-year grant providing service to first-generation and income-eligible students.
One award is a continuation grant of nearly $333,000 for Upward Bound, a pre-college program supporting 70 students yearly. Columbus State gained Upward Bound in 2000 and has a long-standing history of providing services supporting student success through high school and transitioning to college.
The second is a Student Support Services STEM grant. The nearly $263,000 grant will serve 120 Columbus State students and allow the College to hire for two full-time positions.
