Busy schedule for Women’s Employee Resource Group

Update | Monday, January 11, 2021

While the Women’s Employee Resource Group (ERG) is generally aimed at employees identifying as women, all employees are invited to attend some upcoming events sponsored by the ERG.

ERG positive Coping Strategies During the COVID-19 Pandemic
A session on coping strategies during COVID is now open for registration on Cornerstone. This virtual session – open to all employees - will be held Thursday, January 28 from 3-4:30 p.m. All campus community members are invited to hear from Dr. Jose Moreno, Assistant Clinical Professor of the OSU Wexner Medical Center, and Dr. Amanda Burger, Clinical Psychologist of MetroHealth Medical Center.

The pair will offer expertise on managing stress, social isolation, anxiety, and work-life balance during the pandemic. Participants will learn about the latest research on racial disparities and the impact on diverse populations. This virtual panel discussion with a question and answer session is co-sponsored by the Columbus State Community College’s Women’s ERG and Cuyahoga Community College’s Network of Women.

All employees of the College are welcome to attend and are encouraged to complete a quick two-minute survey in advance.

Details can be found in this flyer. Questions can be directed to Crystal Clark, Kelly Hogan, or Nichole Bowman-Glover

ERG professional development opportunity in February
All members of our campus community are invited to join the Women’s ERG as it hosts lecturer Dr. Scott Page, a complex systems theorist from the University of Michigan. This session will be held on Monday, February 1 from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Page will discuss the value of diversity within the context of a knowledge-based economy. Register on Cornerstone for this event.  Registrants will receive a copy of the professor's book The Diversity Bonus: How Great Teams Pay Off in the Knowledge Economy while supplies last. Please contact Kelly Hogan or Crystal Clark with questions.
