International Student Services update

JoYin Tang, supervisor of International Student Services, co-hosted and presented at an Association of International Educators (NAFSA) webinar on April 12. The event connected more than 100 community college International Education professionals on current topics related to student mobility trends, recruitment, and orientation models.

On NAFSA Virtual Advocacy Day (April 21), Tang and seven other Ohio International Educators met with the Office of U.S. Senators Rob Portman and Sherrod Brown. They discussed ways study abroad programs could be made more affordable and how the nation can be more welcoming for international students. Tang serves as the community college representative for NAFSA Region VI (Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky) and is on the chair stream of the Community College Institutional Interest Group.
