Women’s ERG this Thursday, registration required today

Update | Tuesday, August 11, 2020

The phrase “equal pay day” measures how long it takes for women in the following year to reach the annual pay of men in the previous year. According to CNN Business News, American Women’s Equal Pay Day was March 31, 2020, but disparities occur by race.  For the earnings in 2019, it will take until August 13, 2020 for Black women to reach pay parity with the annual 2019 income for men. For Native American women the date is October 1. And for Latina women it is November 2.

The Women’s Employee Resource Group (ERG) invites college employees who identify as women to attend a free forum on Thursday, August 13. It will be available at 9 a.m., 11:45 a.m., and 3 p.m. (This will not be the regularly scheduled Microsoft Teams meeting.) The forum will be hosted by WELD (Women for Economic and Leadership Development) and provides an opportunity to listen, learn, and engage.

Online registration for the 2020 Black Women’s Equal Pay Day forum closes today, August 11, or until filled.  Register at WELD Registration Event Link.
