Library research guides for student success

Update | Tuesday, January 14, 2020

Faculty members are invited to explore research guides available in the Library. The guides are online topic or course pages librarians create to help students begin research.

To determine the guides that exist for your subject, go to the Library’s home page, click the “Research Help” tab, and select “Research Guides” from the drop-down menu.

Columbus State librarians are eager to collaborate with faculty to make research guides in all disciplines as beneficial as possible for students. If you would like to collaborate or recommend a book, website, or database that we can add to an existing guide, please contact the librarian listed in the guide. If you would like a librarian to create a new guide specific to a course or for a new subject area, please contact the Reference Department at RefDesk@cscc.edu.

Librarians need your help directing students to these valuable research tools. A research guide is a much better research starting point for students than a Google search bar. This short video explains how to embed guides in your Blackboard course.

To request a guide or submit guide edits, please contact Sharon Richter, reference and instruction supervisor.
