Columbus State’s photography programs among best in nation

Update | Tuesday, January 21, 2020

A newly released list of the 24 Best Photography Degree Programs places Columbus State at number 4, ahead of such prestigious institutions as Yale University and the New York Institute of Photography. What’s more, Columbus State is one of just two community colleges included.

The list was developed by Intelligent.com, a trusted resource for online degree rankings and higher education planning. They assessed more than 1,600 colleges and universities and compared 402 photography programs. Intelligent.com says, “Our top picks for best photography degrees are flexible, cost-effective, and respected.” Columbus State was cited, in part, for its low tuition.

Gene Strickland, professor and coordinator of the Digital Photography Program, says, “This is such a huge honor that directly rests on the shoulders of our talented students, dedicated faculty and staff, and our invested industry partners. This is a great benefit for our stakeholders.”
