Student Advocacy accepting Peer Advocate applications

Update | Tuesday, January 21, 2020

Do you know a student who would be a great Peer Advocate? The student needs to possess strong leadership abilities, active listening and communication skills, an aptitude for problem-solving, comfort with public speaking, ability to work with diverse populations, and the motivation to learn and help others.

Peer Advocates are part of the Student Advocacy Center and help with the college’s student retention efforts. The goal of the Peer Advocate program is to help students remove barriers to persistence and to reinforce success-oriented behaviors that lead to certificate and degree completion. Peer Advocates provide support to students individually and in groups and connect them to College and community resources.

Candidates should have knowledge of the Columbus State campus, programs, services, and opportunities for students.  This paid position may be applicable to those looking to enter the social and human services field.

Please share this application link with students you encourage to apply!
