CHOICES for students, and your class
Update | Wednesday, February 5, 2020
Counseling Services will be offering an alcohol awareness and harm reduction program for students known as CHOICES. The program incorporates personal reflections on alcohol use, facts, risks, and harm reduction strategies for students who choose to drink alcohol. In some instances, it might also qualify as class credit for attendance in CHOICES.
While it is essential to recognize the illegal nature of any underage alcohol use, it is equally important to provide students with accurate information and strategies for reducing their risk if they choose to drink alcohol. “CHOICES About Alcohol” is a 90-minute alcohol abuse prevention and harm reduction program for college-enrolled students.
There are three open sessions if students are interested in participating this semester:
Tuesday, February 11 from 3-4:30 p.m.
Thursday, March 19 from 3-4:30 p.m.
Wednesday, April 8 from 3-4:30 p.m.
All sessions will be held in Nestor Hall 227.
CHOICES in your classroom
Counseling Services can also present the CHOICES program by request for your classroom. The
CougarConnect link to request a presentation is here.
Counseling Services will review all requests submitted, which are subject to the availability of staff, so schedule well in advance to secure a date.
Recommend student volunteers for CHOICES
