Upward Bound supervisor and others recognized

Thirty-two graduates of Project Diversity and Pride Leadership were recognized during a ceremony on October 25.. Deon Newsom, supervisor for Upward Bound, was among those earning recognition. Following the leadership training, Newsom (pictured) will be working with the United Negro College Fund. Project Diversity and Pride Leadership are two United Way programs designed to work with community professionals to give them the tools to work with nonprofit boards to represent diverse perspectives. As a service project, the groups hosted a literacy fair and book giveaway at a local elementary school.
