Columbus State Police Officer Christopher Miller received the annual Franklin County Sheriff’s Office STAR Award. It was presented at a banquet on Friday, October 11 at the Boathouse at Convergence Park in Columbus. The STAR Award recognizes a member of each Franklin County police agency who exemplifies the qualities of Selflessness, Teamwork, Accountability, and Respect.

Officer Miller was nominated based on his work creating and implementing a three-day firearms training program for newly hired officers. The training was previously taught by another agency. Miller has also taken the lead on overseeing the police department’s entire Field Training Officer program. That program ensures all new officers are trained properly. He monitors their progress with their trainers on a weekly basis.
