IT Department to update computers monthly

Going forward, the IT Department will run updates and restart all employee computers on a monthly basis. This will help ensure they stay secure and run well.

There is no need for faculty and staff to do anything. The updates will automatically occur overnight during the last weekend of each month. The first automatic update will run this weekend, September 28 and 29. To prepare, you’ll want to keep your computer powered on and plugged in when you leave Friday.

After the updates run, your computer will automatically restart. It’s recommended that you close all open programs and save your work before you leave to avoid any data loss. If you have any questions, contact the IT Support Center at extension 5050 or email helpdesk@cscc.edu.
