Child Development Associate credential completion ceremony

Fifty-four students received certificates at the Child Development Associate (CDA)
Completion Ceremony on December 7. It was presented by the Early Childhood Development
and Education (ECDE) Program. Valora Washington, CEO of the Council for Professional
Recognition in Washington, D.C., was the guest speaker. The Council issues the national
CDA credential, which offers career advancement for individuals working in early childcare
and education. The CDA program was made possible through funding from The Columbus
Foundation and the efforts of Charvella McKaye, assistant professor of ECDE, and Stacey Raymond, interim chairperson of Human Services.
