
Fitness Center
Columbus State's fitness center and locker rooms are located in the basement of Delaware Hall (DE). The center is free to current CSCC employees and students. Features include free weights, treadmills and elliptical machines, mats and other exercise equipment.
The lockers in the locker rooms are on a daily use system, please bring your own lock to lock your items up while you are using the fitness center then take your lock and items with you when you are finished. There are also cubby spaces in the Fitness Center to story items as well. A limited number of lockers are available to rent on an annual basis for currents CSCC employees and students. Locker rooms will be available for use during the hours of operation of the Fitness Center which are:

Monday - Thursday 6:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Friday 6:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Closed Saturday and Sunday

The Department of Student Wellbeing's rules for the Columbus State fitness center are as follows:
All students, staff, and faculty must present a Cougar Card photo ID when entering the fitness center. Cards that are expired or without the current quarter’s sticker are invalid.
Fitness Center Staff reserves the right to request identification at any time.
Failure to legibly sign-in with your printed name, signature, Cougar ID and arrival time notation may result in the loss of your fitness center privileges.
Items and activities prohibited in the Fitness Center:
- Food, gum, and beverages Note: Bottled Water or drinks with reclosable tops only, no carry-out food or drinks in cups.
- Digital cameras, web cams, cameras, and video recorders (unless prior permission is granted by CSCC).
- Chewing tobacco, smoking and use of the facility while under the influence of alcohol or other drugs.
- Bicycles, strollers, skateboards and skates.
- Animals (except dogs assisting disabled individuals).
- Cell phone use.
- Listening to personal music without headphones.
- Posting announcements, flyers, posters, etc., on building walls, windows, lockers, and/or doors.
Wipe off equipment after each use with a towel and disinfectant. Disinfectant and towels are provided by the fitness center.
Exercising in street clothes is prohibited - Jeans are not permitted. You must wear appropriate exercise apparel and laced, non-marking, athletic or tennis shoes when using the fitness center.
Shirts must be worn. Shorts and pants must be secured at the waist. Sagging is not permitted.
Do not change clothes in the fitness center. Use the locker room. Gym bags, back packs, and personal gear must be stored in a locked locker in the locker room or in a cubby in the fitness center. CSCC and its employees are not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged property.
Please report injuries and facility or equipment problems to Fitness Center staff immediately.
You must sign up to use cardiovascular machines. Use each machine for its intended purpose.
Dropping or slamming weights is not permitted.
No loitering. Spectators are not allowed in the fitness center.
No profanity, yelling, or verbal abuse.
All participants must adhere to the Student Code of Conduct policies and these rules including any additional rules posted in the fitness center.
All participants in Fitness Center activities participate at their own risk.

The Fitness Center is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property.
Lockers are to be used for legitimate purposes only.
Please report the presence of suspicious individuals in the locker room to staff at the Fitness Center Desk.
For the privacy of everyone, use of cell phones or cameras of any kind is prohibited in the locker room.
All lockers are the property of Columbus State. A fee will be assessed for locker damage caused by negligence or abuse.
Caution: Wet floors in the locker room may be slippery.

Please report any facility problems and/or injuries to the Fitness Center staff immediately.
Fitness Center Staff reserves the right to check lockers for unreturned towels, equipment, and to resolve safety/security concerns. Everyone will be notified should this occur.
Locker Rentals and Locker Use.
Beginning January 16, 2018 a limited number of lockers will be available for rent. See the form above for details.
Any empty locker without a lock on it is available for day-use only.
Personal locks may not be left on day-use lockers overnight.
All day-use locker locks must be removed 15 minutes prior to facility closing.
If day-use lockers are not emptied by closing time each day, Fitness Center staff will remove locks and all items in the lockers and keep items for 5 days at the CS Police Department. After 5 days, all abandoned locker contents will be donated to charity. The Fitness Center is not responsible for locks cut off during this procedure.
