Nursing executive appointed to the Columbus State Board of Trustees

A new member has been appointed to the Columbus State Community College Board of Trustees. The term will run through August 31, 2021.

Lisa M. Gossett, MSN, RN, CENP, is the senior vice president and chief nursing executive of OhioHealth. In that role she is accountable for nursing practice of more than 10,000 nursing associates. She also oversees planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating all nursing functions and patient care services for the OhioHealth system.

Previously, Gossett was the chief nursing officer and vice president of patient care services for three local OhioHealth hospitals. Her earlier career included executive nursing positions with Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.

Gossett, of Marysville, holds a Master’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Wright State University.

“Lisa Gossett’s professional experience will certainly be an asset as a member of our Board of Trustees,” said Columbus State President David Harrison. “Nursing is one of our most popular degree programs at the College, and her knowledge of that profession will be invaluable.”

Columbus State is one of the largest comprehensive colleges in Ohio, currently serving more than 27,000 students and contributing nearly $1 billion annually in regional economic impact. It is the only community college in the nation to earn the three key national distinctions of a Guided Pathways college, an Achieving the Dream Leader College and a Right Signals Initiative college.
