Spring 2020 Week 17
Update | Tuesday, April 28, 2020
Cleveland Avenue construction
The unsightly utility lines on Cleveland Avenue have been replaced with underground lines in front of Mitchell Hall. The removal was part of the Cleveland Avenue Streetscape project in the city. Once it reopens, visitors in the Event Center, and diners at Degrees restaurant, will have an unobstructed view of the downtown skyline. In addition, when the road work is complete, the wires holding the temporary traffic signals above will be removed.
Campus in bloom
The blooms outside the Libary/Columbus Hall are among the flowers providing a sense of spring.
Empty parking lots
Although Spring Semester is in session, the parking lots make it look as if the College is on a break between semesters.
Nesting on campus
In the spring of 2019, a Canadian Goose nested next to the rear entrance to Franklin Hall. Her eggs hatched on May 2 then found a new home off campus. This year, above, a goose has nested next to Franklin Hall, on the side facing Aquinas Hall.
