While fasting is preferred, you do not have to fast for your Biometric Screening appointment. Columbus State and OhioHealth recognize that fasting for an appointment can be difficult, especially when you may be scheduled later in the day. If you are unable to fast for your appointment, notify the OhioHealth clinician at your appointment so they can adjust the glucose measurements accordingly.
OhioHealth manages the Wellness Portal and protects all personal health information as Columbus State’s independent wellbeing vendor. Your personal health information is never shared with Columbus State—only OhioHealth sees your Biometric Screening results, and they are legally required to protect your privacy in accordance with all federal and state privacy laws.
OhioHealth clinicians conduct the Biometric Screenings on the Columbus campus. Clinicians privately answer questions or concerns you may have about your results and suggest helpful resources.
If you need assistance logging in to the Wellness Portal, OhioHealth clinicians and representatives can help.
The Wellness Portal is available to full-time employees in the Engagement Program and/or Rewards Program. The Engagement Program does not apply to employees who are members of Teamsters.

If you are covered by a Columbus State medical plan, Columbus State only receives verification that you completed the Biometric Screening and does not see your numbers or any medical details. Our focus on Biometric Screenings is intended to give employees more insight into their own health and increase access to preventive care.
Arrive at the Biometric Screening room no more than 5 minutes early for your scheduled appointment. Your appointment should take about 15-20 minutes to complete. The screening includes:
- Total cholesterol
- HDL, LDL, TC/HDL ratio
- Glucose
- Height, weight, body mass index (BMI)
- Waist circumference
- A1C
An OhioHealth clinician conducts the Biometric Screening via finger stick and measures blood pressure, height, weight, BMI, and waist circumference. Results from the finger stick appear in five minutes. Clinicians privately answer questions or concerns you may have about your results and suggest helpful resources.
Knowing your biometric results provides a current snapshot of your overall health and wellness and identifies risk factors for health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension that could develop down the road.
Streamline completing the Engagement Program by getting a Biometric Screening at an on-site event.
If you have not yet completed the Engagement Program, you must complete and submit a Biometric Screening and the Wellness Assessment by June 30, 2027. If you do not complete these two requirements, you will have a higher medical premium contribution for the July 1, 2027 – June 30, 2028, plan year. Any spouse or domestic partner who is covered by a Columbus State medical plan must also complete the Engagement Program to maintain the lower medical premium contribution.
You can get a Biometric Screening at a doctor’s office or sign up for an on-site screening at Columbus State this spring. If you get a screening done with your PCP, you must have them complete the Biometric Screening Form, which you will need to submit to CSCCwellbeing@OhioHealth.com.
We encourage signing up for an on-site Biometric Screening appointment, because this will simplify your completion of the Engagement Program. On-site Biometric Screening results automatically populate into the OhioHealth Wellness Assessment. After getting an on-site screening, all you need to do is sign in to the Wellness Portal to finish and submit the Wellness Assessment. Taking advantage of the on-site screening opportunity eliminates the need to bring a printed form to your PCP to fill out and later submit to the Wellness Portal.
Getting a Biometric Screening is step one of two that you need to complete the Engagement Program. You can complete the Wellness Assessment on the Wellness Portal. If you do not already have an account, register at this link.
Email wellbeing@cscc.edu with any questions.
The Engagement Program does not apply to employees who are members of Teamsters.
