Columbus State triples Think Again scholarship
Students 25 and older can now qualify for $3,500
Adult students at Columbus State Community College can now cash
in bigger than ever if they qualify for a unique scholarship.
The Board of Trustees approved
$3.25 million in additional funding for the Think Again scholarship
program. The original Think Again guidelines, instituted just last
year, allowed students 25 and older to qualify for a one-time grant
of $1,000 if they were taking at least six credit hours.
In order to expand and broaden the awards, applicants are now
eligible for $1,500 the first year and an additional $2,000 the
second year. The six-credit-hour requirement has been removed so
that students taking fewer hours may also apply.
“In a way, this program is Columbus State’s stimulus package for the
central Ohio economy,” says Columbus State Vice President for
Institutional Advancement Will Kopp. “During challenging economic
times, higher education has to be innovative in developing ways to
give adults easy access to the programs and the support they need to
retool for tomorrow’s jobs.”
Students who are interested in the Think Again Scholarship must first apply for admission to Columbus State, which they can do online. |
