COLUMBUS STATE Player named OCCAC Player of the Week

Columbus State’s Brandon Beasley is the Men’s Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) Player of the Week.  The sophomore forward from Indianapolis scored 53 points in two winning games last week while tallying 21 rebounds and seven assists.  Beasley was 19 of 32 from the floor and he was the leading scorer in both games.

For the fifth straight week Columbus State Community College has held on to the number six spot in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II Men’s Basketball poll.  The Cougars are 16-1 overall and 3-0 in the OCCAC. Last season Coach Pat Carlisle took the team to the national championships for the first time where they were just a few points short of winning the title game.

Daily Cougar practices are open to the media. Most are held weekdays at 5:00 p.m. in the Delaware Hall Gymnasium on the Columbus State campus.
