Nursing at Columbus State

nurseOur Nursing Programs offer a number of affordable, quality ways to get you into the Health Care field.

Columbus State's Associate of Applied Science in Nursing Degree (A.D.N.) prepares our graduates to provide direct care to clients with common health problems in a variety of settings. We offer a five semester program that includes knowledge from nursing, humanities and sciences along with a strong emphasis on psychomotor skills. Upon successful completion of the program, students are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN exam .

The program is for those students who have a bachelors degree in another field of study, but now wish to become a registered nurse. Note: Although the classes are online, you'll still need to attend a clinical site for hands-on training, and participate in on campus labs.

The Practical Nurse Program is a part-time evening and weekend program designed to prepare graduates to provide health care to clients of various ages in a variety of health care settings. The part-time program is designed as a career path for entry-level patient care providers.

If you already have an LPN, you can get an associate degree to allow you to take your RN exam.

This one-class certificate (NURC 1101) qualifies students to become a Nurse Aide. NURC 1101 is a prerequisite for most of our nursing programs, so be sure to check it out.

We offer a number of certificates aimed at students who either want to enter the health care field, or for nurses who want to expand their credentials.
