Welcome To the Law Enforcement Program Website at Columbus State
Columbus State's Law Enforcement program is one of the best ways to become a police officer in Central Ohio. Our graduates are in high demand with law enforcement agencies all over the region.
Our Programs
We offer three degree programs:
- Police Academy - There are two ways to become a peace officer: 1) Get hired by a police agency and go through their academy or 2) Go through an independent academy like ours. Applying for a job is a lot easier if you already have the certification.
- This is the Academy Track Program required by the Ohio Peace Officers Training Commission (OPOTC) to become a certified peace officer. Graduates of this program must pass the state exam to gain certification.
- Law Enforcement - The Law Enforcement program prepares students for a variety of careers in federal, state or local law enforcement agencies.
- Corrections - Learn to be a parole officer (adult or juvenile) or a corrections officer.
Why Columbus State: Besides having the lowest cost per credit hour in the state, our programs can give you a leg up in getting a job.
