Job Description: Located at at 195 N Grant Ave just a few blocks from campus (columbusliteracy.org). The Columbus Literacy Council (CLC) is a volunteer-based organization dedicated to increasing the level of functional literacy of adults in central Ohio through teaching the English language skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Duties include: assist with student reading assessments, student intake/exit process and general clerical duties.
Skills Required: Good communication skills and the ability to work with diverse cultures.

Job Description: Provide direct supervision and academic instruction to participant's children ages 5 through 14; provide one-on-one tutoring and homework assistance.

Position Title: Columbus Urban League: After School Program Assistant
Rate of Pay: $7.57

Requested Hours: Required Wed's nights 5:30 - 7:30; Mon and Tue 3:30 - 5:30 needed; many events and programs held on Saturdays; upwards of 10 - 15 hours weekly
Job Description: Provide support for the after school program activities such as making phone calls, creating agendas, support organized events, attend field trips, and facilitate activities with after school students.
Skills Required: Personal skills: a deep interest, patience, and a sincere liking for middle school and high school aged students. Artistic skills: interest in dance or other art forms such as spoken word, step, choir, etc helpful. Above all, Program Assistants are role models for the young students in the after school program and as such must exemplify, model, and promote the positivity and dedication to self improvement (personal, academic, etc) that the Columbus Urban League strives for.

Duties include: answer incoming phone calls and provide screening, referral and documentation, and follow-up communication for previous referrals. Provide advocacy for community members seeking resources.
Skills Required: Basic computer skills, attention to detail, bilingual language a plus, ability to work independently, and have a positive work attitude.

Job Description: Located at 3140 Westerville Rd, Columbus, OH 43224 **** The ReStore Store is Habitat's home improvement store. Student would assist customers, stock shelves, work with and possibly lead volunteers. There is room for additional responsibilities within this position.
Skills Required: Must be friendly and willing to help customers and volunteers. Students should be able to lift 50 lbs.

Job Description: Located at 3798 E Broad St, Columbus *** Student needed to assist with digital transition project. Documents, forms, and records will be converted to electronic form via digital scanning. Student will also help with general office duties as needed including fielding correspondence, taking messages, writing follow up emails, and preparing materials for local high school programs.
Skills Required: Skills and experience with computers, especially scanners and Adobe. Typing, light lifting, knowledge of Word Excel and PowerPoint is helpful, filing skills.

Position Title: Columbus Metropolitan Library: Job Help Center Assistant
Rate of Pay: $7.57

Requested Hours: Flexible - JHC hours between 9 am and 3 pm Monday - Friday
Job Description: ** Parsons Road and Karl Road Branches ** Provide support to the new Job Help Center (JHC) staff members and customers. Provide one-on-one assistance to customers answering appropriate questions related to conducting a job search using various search engines and software. Help with electronic resumes, proof read application materials, and teach customers how to use reference materials in the JHC. Also, model literacy and good customer service skills.
Skills Required: Must hold advanced literacy and computer skills. Knowledge of employment sites and job search-related software (e.g. Monster, Careerbuilder, etc). Keyboarding skills with a familiarity with MS Office products required. Preferred skills include those that distinguish a person as action oriented, approachable, customer focused, compassionate, and able to build/hold good peer relationships with staff, fellow volunteers, and customers.
