Lifelong Learning Institute

Columbus State’s Continuing Professional Education Department has developed The Lifelong Learning Institute as a peer-led, membership-driven organization—in essence, a learning club for mature residents of central Ohio. The Institute is offering 3 or 4 week, non-credit courses and special events focusing on the arts, science, languages, technology, spirituality, economics and world affairs. An 18-member council of retirees from a wide range of professional and educational backgrounds works hard to develop the unique, non-credit academic programs with the assistance of older adult learning specialist, Dr. Christina Butler.

Annual membership in the Institute is $100 per person or $160 for couples and includes access to all educational offerings between September 1 and August 31. A half-year membership costs $75 and $120, respectively.

In the words of College President Valeriana Moeller, “At Columbus State we have always supported lifelong learning for the citizens of central Ohio, and the Institute is providing a great way for retirees and my fellow baby boomers to continue their education.”
