Concert Band and Ensemble
Columbus State offers instruction and performing groups in Concert Band and various Ensembles, for credit through the music department. Faculty, staff, students and even community members are welcomed into Columbus State’s program to play for non-credit as well.
The instruments in Concert Band include flute, oboe, bassoon, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba, and percussion. Rehearsals/classes for Concert band are held Tuesday evenings 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. Small Group Instrumental Ensemble class is also offered on Tuesday. Ensembles and Concert Band are under the direction of Mr. Thomas Lloyd.
Band Celebrates tenth Anniversary
Columbus State Concert band gave its first concert in November of 1998.

Columbus State Concert Band & Small Group Ensembles
Under the direction of Thomas Lloyd, the Columbus State Concert Band and Ensembles include players from a variety of experience including students, faculty, and community members. Opportunities are available for credit and non-credit participation. Concert Band rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm during Fall, Winter and Spring terms. Ensemble rehearsals are one afternoon or evening per week throughout the year.
