![]() Career Information Demand for Surgical Technologists is expected to grow faster than the average for all occupations through 2010. Now's the time to sharpen your skills and join the team. As a Surgical Technologist, you will learn to operate the operating room by setting up surgical instruments, equipment, sterile curtains and other equipment. You will wash, shave and disinfect patients; observe vital signs and check charts. Although most Surgical Technologists work in hospitals, greater employment growth is predicted for physician-owned hospitals, surgeons' offices and clinics. "Private scrubs" are employed by surgeons with special surgical teams, such as those who work on organ transplants. Job titles include:
