Understanding English is the vehicle toward success in the U.S. and many other parts of the world. Thus, Columbus State Community College's Language Institute offers several English courses to meet your individual needs. These include:

• Basic English Courses
The courses in the Basic English as a Second Language program are designed to provide a foundation of spoken and written English. Courses are offered on an open-enrollment basis each quarter. They are also available by contract with businesses or organizations in central Ohio.

• Optional Basic English Courses
These courses can be taken alone or with the core Basic English series. No prerequisite is needed.
