Alan
A. Atwood Alan A. Atwood is a Professor in the Interpreting/American Sign Language Education Program. He is a hearing child of Deaf parents and maternal grandparents. His degrees and academic coursework include a Bachelor of Science in Deaf Education from the University of Tennessee, at Knoxville; a Master of Arts in Educational Administration and Supervision: Area of the Deaf, from the National Leadership Training Program, California State University at Northridge; and substantial post-graduate coursework in Foreign and Second Language Education at The Ohio State University, Columbus. He has also earned the Comprehensive Skills Certificate from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf and the American Sign Language Teachers Association Professional Certification. Carole
R. Francis Carole is the Clinical Coordinator and adjunct faculty member in the Interpreting/American Sign Language Education Program. Carole has been in the field of Sign Language interpreting for 31 years and is a certified member of the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc. She attended the National Interpreter Training Consortium at California State University at Northridge and the Rehabilitation Services Commission “Share Your Knowledge” (for mentors of interpreters) training. Having co-founded and co-directed two interpreting services agencies, she has a great deal of administrative experience in addition to interpreting. Kathy
Nunley
Kathy is the interpreting program tutor at Columbus State. Before working at Columbus State, she worked at Deaf Services Center teaching community ASL classes for nine years. Kathy is also the production supervisor at Deaf Initiatives. She is married, has one daughter, and enjoys being active in the deaf community. Union 127 |

Tina
J. Perry Tina J. Perry is a full-time instructor in the Interpreting/American Sign Language Education program. Tina’s parents are both Deaf and reside here in Ohio. She has a Bachelor of Science from Wilberforce University and has a Masters degree from Ohio University. She holds a Certificate of Interpretation & Certificate of Transliteration from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf and a level 5 Master certificate from The National Association of the Deaf.
