How will my financial aid funds be disbursed to me?
Eligible financial aid students (total financial aid disbursement minus tuition/fees) will have a credit up to $800.00 at the Columbus State Bookstore, designated solely for the purchase of textbooks and course materials (exclusions apply).
The student's remaining financial aid credit balance (equal to the student's total financial aid disbursement minus tuition/fees, and minus the amount used at the Columbus State Bookstore) will be disbursed in the form of a check or direct deposit. Refunds will be processed beginning the fifth or sixth week of the semester, after course attendance and participation is verified. Funds for 30-day delay loans are expected at the College thirty (30) days into the semester and will be disbursed to eligible students via direct deposit or check within 14 days of the credit balance posting on the student's account.
How will I know when my book allowance or financial aid refund has been sent?
An e-mail notification will be sent at the time the funds become available at the Columbus State Bookstore and also, when a financial aid direct deposit or check refund has been processed. Please check your CSCC student e-mail account for e-mail notifications. To view your account, sign in to CougarWeb under Financial Information, and click on Manage My Account. Account information is not released over the telephone.
How will I know when my tuition refund has been sent?
If you paid online, an e-mail notification will be sent the e-mail account listed in the system. usually, this is your Columbus State assigned student e-mail account.
How do I sign up for direct deposit?
NOTE: Currently, only financial aid refunds may be issued direct deposit.
Step 1: Go to CougarWeb (https://cougarweb.cscc.edu) and log in
Step 2: Click on the "Bank Information (U.S.)" link
Step 3: Enter your bank account information on the Bank Information (U.S.) screen
Step 4: Check the box to agree to the terms and conditions and then click "Submit"
You will be taken to a confirmation page and we will send an email to your CSCC student email account confirming the change.
If you have old bank account information that needs removed, check the "Delete" box and click "Submit" before entering any new bank account information.
Please note: CougarWeb and/or confirmation emails will only display the last 4 digits of the account number we have on file.
If you do not have a bank account and would like to sign up for an Education First Credit Union account, you may do so either at the Cashiers and Student Accounting customer service windows or by going to Education First Credit Union. Please have a valid, government issued photo ID with you (driver's license, state ID, or passport). If you go to Education First Credit Union, please take a copy of your course schedule. After you receive your banking information from Education First you must enter your information on CougarWeb. If you need help finding your routing number and/or account number, click on the "How do I find the routing number and bank account number?" link at the top of the page, or contact your financial institution.
How do I use Financial Aid at the Columbus State Bookstore?
Eligible financial aid recipients will have a credit, up to $800.00, designated solely for the purchase of textbooks and course materials. The credit can be used for in-store purchases of textbooks (new, used, select rental and eBooks), reference books, office supplies, school supplies, technology products, backpacks and totes, academically required apparel (nursing uniforms, martial arts, chef wear, graduation caps and gowns), COTA Bus Passes (Available in Customer Care only) and other required supplies related to your scheduled courses (yoga, lab, hospitality, art, and drafting). Only the student may make purchases using their Financial Aid funds.
Required course textbooks, along with a limited selection of other required course materials, can be ordered online at http://www.cscc.edu/service/bookstore/. There are two delivery options available. Students can have orders shipped free (within four days) to the Delaware Campus or the Regional Learning Centers (Dublin, Gahanna, Reynoldsburg, Southwest Center at Bolton Field, and Westerville), Students that live outside Franklin County may have their textbooks and course materials delivered through UPS (standard UPS charges and delivery timelines apply).
What type of information will I need to bring with me to the Columbus State Bookstore to purchase my books with my financial aid book allowance?
Students will need to have their Cougar ID or a valid driver's license, state ID, military ID, or passport along with their Cougar ID number. Only the student can charge textbooks and course materials against their financial aid.
If I chose not to purchase my books through the Columbus State Bookstore, will I be reimbursed from my financial aid?
You are not required to use the Columbus State Bookstore to purchase your books and course materials for your class. If you chose to purchase books somewhere other than the Columbus State Bookstore, you will receive the full amount of your financial aid credit via check or direct deposit. Refunds are released after course attendance and participation is verified, approximately the fifth or sixth week of the semester.
What happens if my textbooks and course materials are not available at the Columbus State Bookstore before classes begin?
Every effort is made to ensure adequate numbers of required textbooks and course materials are in stock before classes begin. In the event that a required textbook or course material is out of stock, the Columbus State Bookstore will place an order to obtain the necessary textbook or course material in as timely a manner as possible. If the items is not marked 'out of stock', please notify a Bookstore Associate.
Will I still be able to sell my textbooks and course materials back at the end of the semester?
The ability to use financial aid to charge purchases directly at the Columbus State Bookstore will not interfere with a student's ability to sell textbooks and course materials back at the end of the semester. Buybacks will need to be made in accordance with the Bookstore's Buyback Policy. Rentals and e-books are not eligible for buybacks.
What if I need to return a textbook or course material?
Return of textbooks and course materials will need to be made in accordance with the Columbus State Bookstore's Return Policy. Any credit received from the return of a textbook or course material will be posted as a credit back to your student account with the College. The funds will first be applied to any outstanding balance for the semester. If you do not owe a balance, the funds will be released in accordance with the College's policy on disbursing excess financial aid funds. These are processed within fourteen (14) days from the account showing a credit balance.
What if I withdraw from classes?
Withdrawing from classes can affect your financial aid eligibility. Before withdrawing from classes, you should consult your financial aid advisor to determine how this may affect the amount of aid available on your account. If you completely withdraw from classes for the semester you will not be able to charge items at the Columbus State Bookstore against your financial aid. If withdrawing from classes results in a balance owed on the your account, you may be able to return books back to the Columbus State Bookstore and have the credit applied to your account with the College as long as returns are made in accordance with the Columbus State Bookstore's Return Policy..
If I am not receiving financial aid and paid the tuition out of pocket or with a 3rd party, then how are funds disbursed to me?
The refunds will be disbursed after the full-term 50% refund period. This will be in the form of a check, unless your tuition was paid with a Visa, MasterCard, or Discover.
If your tuition was paid with a credit card, the refund will be returned to the credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or Discover). If a debit card was used to pay tuition, then the funds will be returned to that account. The funds will take 4-7 business days to appear in your account after Columbus State's refund process. Please watch for an email to be notified that the refunds have been returned to the credit card you used for fee payment. Note: Certain fees and charges are non-refundable once charged to your account such as the $50 Application, Records and ID fee, Parking Permit fee, and the Late Registration fee.
Tuition and fees paid by a third party may need to be refunded to the agency that paid your tuition.

Columbus Campus Customer Service windows are located in the lobby of Rhodes Hall, 2nd floor. No appointment is necessary. Hours of operation are Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Wednesdays 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Fridays 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Delaware Campus Business Service Office is located in the lobby of Moeller Hall, 1st floor. No appointment is necessary. Hours of operation are Wednesdays 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
