Frequently Asked Payroll Questions

When is Payday?

Answer: The College pays employees twice a month, on the fifteenth and on the last day of the month. If payday falls on the weekend, payday will be on the Friday before the weekend, if it falls on a holiday, payday will be on the work day before the holiday.

Do I have to pick up my first check, before it goes Direct Deposit?

Answer: Yes, we do a trial run to the bank where we verify your routing number and your account number to make sure there are no errors when we transmit your actual paycheck. Your first check will be available at the payroll window in Human Resources after 10:00 on payday.

How do I change my Direct Deposit?

Answer: Go to forms on the HR web site www.cscc.edu/humanresources/ and select the Direct Deposit form. Print the form and complete the appropriate sections, attach a copy of a voided check and bring it to the Payroll window in Human Resources.

How can I change my taxes?

Answer: Go to forms on the HR web site www.cscc.edu/humanresources/ and select the tax forms you need. Print out the tax form, complete the information and bring it to the Payroll Department/Human Resources in Rhodes Hall.

How and when are adjunct instructors paid?

Answer: The total amount of your contract is divided evenly over 5 equal payments. Adjuncts instructors receive their first pay for Summer quarter on July 31st , for Autumn quarter on October 31st, for Winter quarter on January 31st, and for Spring quarter on April 30th. These days hold true unless it falls on the weekend or a holiday, (see above: When is payday?)
