Welcome to Columbus State’s Computer Information Technology (formally Computer Science). What an exciting time to become involved in Information Technology! As the industry grows, we find that the economy is requiring IT workers not only to be proficient in analytical ability but also in creative problem solving and skillful communication—using work groups and collaborative technologies to convey ideas and reach consensus.

The faculty and I are excited to offer you five plans of study to begin your career or retool your skill sets. These studies will provide you the opportunity to gain expertise in computer information technology and the soft skills needed for marketability. Every technology in the industry gets lighter, faster, and more connected, which requires you to stay current in your job and achieve new skills. It takes serious commitment to learn cutting-edge technology. It’s a must to have a marketable specialty in advance of your peers for your ticket to success in a fast-paced industry.
