Still time to get a flu shot!
Central Ohio is getting hit hard by the flu, as is the rest of the country. Boston
and New York have declared public health emergencies, and 47 states are reporting
widespread activity, including Ohio. The first pediatric death in Ohio was reported
last week in the Cleveland area.
Flu activity usually peaks in February in the United States and can last as late as May.
The flu vaccine, while not 100% effective, is still the best protection. Get vaccinated as soon as possible. Local flu clinics.
Key steps to prevent getting and spreading the flu:
- Get your flu shot every year.
- Wash your hands.
- Cover your cough.
- Stay home when sick.
