2012 Sport & Exercise Studies Hall Of Fame
CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
It is never too early to nominate a fellow alum!! The SES Hall of Fame committee is requesting nominations for the SES Hall of Fame 2012 induction ceremony. Nomination forms are available by contacting Dr. Tom Habegger thabegge@cscc.edu or 614-287-5422.
Nominees must be a graduate of the SES program and been an alumnus for over five years. Nominations of “friends” of the program or a professional that has made direct impact on the SES program will also be accepted. Nominations will be accepted through January 31, 2012. The inductees will be honored during the SES Hall of Fame Ceremony in the spring of 2012.

Dr. Antoinette Perkins Named New SES-Faculty Member
Dr. Antoinette Perkins has been announced as the new full time faculty member for the Sport & Exercise Studies program. Dr. Perkins joins the SES faculty after serving as the Coordinator and Assistant Professor in the Massage Therapy program at Columbus State over the past six years. Dr. Perkins will be teaching courses in the Exercise Science major as well as some Physical Education course work.
Dr. Perkins earned her B.S degree from the University of Florida in Sport & Exercise Studies in 1999. She earned her Masters in Human Physiology from Ball State University in 2000 and earned her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Capella University in 2010. Antoinette and her husband Bobby and children Isaac and Noel are active in the central Ohio community and currently reside in New Albany.

SES ATTAINS RECORD ENROLLMENT
The Columbus State Sport & Exercise Studies has reached another record enrollment for the autumn term 2010. The program has 502 students declared in the three SES majors of Sport Management, Exercise Science and Physical Education.
2010 Sport & Exercise Studies Runner-Up
Sport & Exercise Studies has been informed by the American Association of Community Colleges that is was second largest producer of sport management graduates (Associate degree) in the country! Congratulations students, alumni, faculty, and associates on another GREAT YEAR!!
The Union Institute & University B.S. Program
Columbus State Sport & Exercise Studies has finalized an articulation agreement with TUIU. The agreement will allow graduates of the SES program to complete their baccalaureate degree in Leadership with a concentration in sport management in one year. All the classes will be taught Hybrid and offered on the campus of Columbus State.

SES-Alumni Golf Outing Raises Funds
The 2010 Sport & Exercise Studies Alumni Golf Outing raised about $500.00 benefiting the SES Scholarship program which was held at noon on Friday, June 5th at Bridgeview Golf Club (Columbus State’s Golf Course). Thank you to all who participated!
SES faculty and students form SES Sport & Social Club
Adjunct Instructor Mr. Chris Hill and Associate Professor Eric Welch are heading up the newly formed SES Sport & Social Club. The club’s mission is to offer SES students, alumni, and faculty an opportunity to socialize and professionally network. Winter quarter 2010 activities will be announced soon!
Autumn 2011 Registration
Course registration for autumn term 2011 begins on July25th. Currently enrolled and continuing students are encouraged to register early. Strong enrollment combined with the new student registration processes for the college may cause delays, so see your assigned sport management advisor to pre-register.

SES Advisory Committee Meeting Announced
The Sport & Exercise Studies Advisory Committee will meet on Thursday, November 17th, 2011.
Summer ‘11 Commencement Set for September 9th
Summer commencement is set for September 9th at Veteran’s Memorial Auditorium. The ceremony will begin at 10am. Approximately 20 Sport & Exercise Studies graduates are expected to participate.
