A celebration of social justice
Columbus State's Jan. 15 Martin Luther King Jr. Day event featured drums, poetry, dancing and a stirring keynote by actor and activist Danny Glover.
The late civil rights leader stood not only for justice, but a "revolution of values," Glover said. "We want to be participants in our own rescue."
Glover was welcomed to the stage by President David T. Harrison, who said the college strives to live up to King's legacy. Columbus State attempts to celebrate social justice by helping the community get an education, he said.
