What is SPA?

SPA is the Student Paralegal Association at Columbus State Community College.  SPA provides members with information relevant to their education and career goals with the Paralegal profession.

Membership

All student enrolled in the Paralegal Studies program at CSCC are automatically a member of SPA.  Membership is free!

Events

Each year SPA sponsors a number of different activities.  These include Law Day, general membership meetings, networking events with guest speakers, and, for the first time this year, a picnic, just to name a few.  Click here to see the schedule of events for the current quarter.

SPA is great way to meet others, to find out more about the Paralegal Studies program, and network with other students and working Paralegals, via membership in organizations such as OSBA and PACO.

 

Betty Strange, SPA President and a native of Kentucky, is pursuing her Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies.  Upon graduation, Betty is planning a career in criminal law or Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).

SPA Vice-President, Jennifer Zinsmeister, hails from Fredericktown, Ohio and  received her BA in Psychology and Political Science from Miami (Ohio) University in 2004.  Jennifer plans on attending law school, with an eye general practice, after she receives her post-baccalaureate certificate in Paralegal Studies.

Sydney S. Vazquez, SPA Treasurer, enrolled in the Certificate Program, is from Columbus, OH.  Sydney received her BA from OSU in Education and her MA in Education-Social Agency Counseling from the University of Dayton.  Upon completion in Spring 2006, Sydney plans to pursue a career in Immigration, Employment or Family law. 

Dennatta Litt, SPA Secretary  is a graduate of Wilberforce University and grew up in Akron, Ohio.  Dennatta will receive her post-baccalaureate certificate in Spring of 2006 and plans to work in Real Estate law.
